The week of July 20, DEV/Lab is partnering with multitalented teacher and spoken word artist Wil Dionisio for a really exciting camp. Students will learn how to leverage technology to record and share their stories. First, we’ll learn how to use Garageband, iMovie, and Adobe Spark. Then we will study some elementary artistic techniques of film production—-including lighting, framing, and editing. Finally, we’ll coach students through writing and recording their own stories. By the end of the week, every student will have at least one finished, polished product (though undoubtedly some will have more).
Students may choose to tell a story from their personal life, interview a friend or family member, invent a character, conduct a news show, or do all of the above. There are a million and one ways to tell a story, and everyone has interesting stories to tell!
