April 7 Workshop– Game Construction with Scratch: Super Mario Bros. (platformer)
Grades 3-8.
12:30 pm – 3:30 pm. $50.
Max enrollment: 6 students.
Platformer games have been around since the dawn of time. Super Mario Bros. is perhaps the best known version, but the principles of platformers are generally all the same: you run around, jump up and across platforms, and collect items. Oh, and gravity pulls you down. Students who master the basics can add bonus features like multiple levels, bosses, timers, and side scrolling. Students should have some prior experience with Scratch for this one.
